World coffee market will move to deficit in 2021-22
For world agricultural markets in general, 2021 may turn out a year of two halves with firm prices in the first half and softness in the second. But coffee could be an exception because of supply shortfall and demand revival operating together.
Brazil breaks record for coffee exports
Brazil, the world’s largest producer and supplier of coffee, exported 44.5 million bags (of 60 kilograms) of this bean in 2020, a volume 9.4% higher than in 2019 and a record number for the country, despite the pandemic.
